One of the things that people need to learn 

is to follow Christ Himself, 

rather than a man, or men.

If they do not learn this, 

they will, 

by default, 

find themselves following 

a 'group',

a 'religion', 

a 'movement', 

a 'cause',

a 'church', 

a man or woman, 

rather than the Savior.

There are so many forms of deception in Christendom today. 

Gnosticism, pietism, hyperspiritualism, antinomianism, Word of Faith, contemplative/mysticism, legalism, signs & wonder seekers, incessant need for conferences and more.

It is vital that people understand the necessity 

of the new birth 

and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit 

to avoid being deceived. 

The Spirit of God leads us AWAY from error, 

INTO all Truth. 

Listen to Jesus:

"I will ask the Father, 

and He will give you another Helper, 

that He may be with you forever; 

that is the Spirit of Truth, 

whom the world cannot receive, 

because it does not see Him or know Him, 

but you know Him 

because He abides with you 

and will be in you. 

I will not leave you as orphans; 

I will come to you..

when the Helper comes, 

whom I will send to you from the Father, 

the Spirit of Truth, 

who proceeds from the Father, 

He will bear witness about Me. 

And you will testify also, 

because you have been with Me 

from the beginning."

(John 14:17:15:26-27)

Listen to Jesus warn His disciples, assuring them that IF they are truly His followers, it is NOT POSSIBLE  to truly and finally be deceived by even the most cunning, charismatic false prophets:

"Then if anyone says to you, 

'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There He is,' 

do not believe him. 

For false Christs and false prophets will arise 

and will show great signs and wonders, 

so as to mislead, 

if possible, 

even the elect. 

Behold, I have told you in advance."

(Matthew 24:24;Mark 13:22)

In His beautiful high priestly intercession (which continues in heaven!), 

the Savior seeks the Father's protection from deception for His genuine disciples;

"I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, 

but that You should keep them from the evil one. 

They are not of the world, 

just as I am not of the world.

Sanctify them by Your Truth. 

Your Word is Truth." 

(John 17:15-17)

The Lord Jesus, who declares HIMSELF to be THE TRUTH (John 14:6), 

assures those who genuinely belong to Him of a genuinely blessed FREEDOM in Him: 

 

“If you abide in My Word, 

you are My disciples indeed. 

And you shall know the truth, 

and the truth shall make you FREE...

Therefore if the Son makes you free, 

you shall be FREE indeed.”

(John 8:31,36)

Avoid the gilded cage!

Seek to live in the simplicity of Christ.

COLD WEATHER NECESSITIES FOR MISSIONARIES

When it hits single digits (or below zero) mothers still bring their babies in to have them slaughtered at abortuaries. Sadly, many missionaries had to stay home from witnessing at the killing places when the most frigid days of winter hit. Why? Because their wardrobe left them unprepared for the polar vortex weather. May I recommend that you try & catch some of the end of winter sales on special clothing especially designed for below freezing? You will redeem the time, ministering many more days, if you make preparations now. Invest in good socks, long undergarments, coats, boots, hats & gloves for ministry next winter.

My friend Jillian (in Ohio) got frostbite on her thumb this winter, & she was WEARING GLOVES! You need the right stuff! Here are a few pieces of good advice from those who know how to keep safe & warm in cold weather:

I wear Pepper Skins Hot Chillys ( http://www.hotchillys.com/) underneath, which includes top and bottoms along with regular socks underneath a pair of Wigwam wool socks, then a hooded sweatshirt, Columbia fleece, and an Arizona winter jacket. Insulated boots are Alpine Design with Thinsulate insulation. I'll wear a Bula Balaclava. http://www.bulabula.com/ Gloves are also Alpine Design with Thinsulate insulation. That about covers it, so to speak.

I no longer live & minister in very cold climates in winter. If I did, though, I would want to get all the accoutrements recommended. It is vital to keep warm & dry, stave off chilling winds, wick moisture, avoid frost nip, frost bite & hyperthermia. Clothes are a missionary's TOOLS in winter. They are worthy of making requests from Christians for donations. There are some that are good for 40 below zero! I read of a man who jogs all year in Fairbanks, Alaska, even when it is 40-50 below zero! I'm sure keeping moving helps.

YOUR PRECIOUS CHILDREN: I realize that it may be untenable to purchase all of these things for children, who will need new ones every year. For the coldest days, it is probably wise to seek godly friends to watch the children indoors, rather than bringing them out to the killing place. Ask the Lord to help you find saints who want to support your missionary endeavor by caring for your blessings.

If you are a faithful missionary (you have been ministering at least once a week for a good period of time), you are worthy of support in this regard. If you cannot afford the proper accoutrements for ministering for hours out in the frigid winter weather, ask your church & friends to help you acquire them. A soldier needs the right tools for battle. For Scripture says, "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain," and "The worker deserves his wages." ( I Timothy 5:18)

Walk in the light 

while there is light.

Walk while you have the light, 

before darkness overtakes you.

God Almighty blinds those who refuse, constantly, deliberately, and over a period of time to walk in light. Three times in the book of Romans, people were given up by God; first to uncleanness, second, to vile affections, and third, to a reprobate (depraved) mind. God gave them over to a spirit of slumber. He gave them eyes that they should not see truth, and ears that they should not hear truth.

Do you want God to just leave you alone? 

He will do just that. 

What a terrifying desire. 

It's end is death.

You were not made to live independently of God but the complete opposite. Anything else is utter rebellion. Turn from such thinking and walk in the light. No matter how opposed you are on every side and though the world walk in the opposite direction, walk in the light. When all those around you call evil good, and good evil, turn and walk in the light of God's truth. You know it. He planted it in your heart as a gift; the gift of your God- given conscience.

Let us acknowledge the Lord...

That we may live before Him.

Every sin has a voice to speak, 
but some sins cry.

Such sins are more heinous that are committed presumptuously.
Under the law there was no sacrifice for presumptuous sins. (Num 15:30).

What is the sin of presumption,
which heightens and aggravates sin,
and makes it more heinous?

To sin presumptuously,
is to sin against convictions and illuminations,
or an enlightened conscience.

‘They are of those that rebel against the light.’ 
Job 24:13 ...

When a man sins after counsels, admonitions, warnings,
he cannot plead ignorance.
The trumpet of the gospel has been blown in his ears,
and sounded a retreat to call him off from his sins,
he has been told of his injustice...
yet he would venture upon sin.
This is to sin against conviction;
it aggravates the sin,
and is like a weight put into the scale,
to make his sin weigh the heavier...

When a man sins against express combinations and threatening.
God has thundered out threatenings against such sins...
Though God set the point of his sword to the breast of a sinner,
he will still commit sin.
The pleasure of sin delights him
more than the threatenings affright him....
he derides God’s threatenings...
For men to see the flaming sword of God’s threatening brandished,
yet to strengthen themselves in sin,
is in an aggravated manner to sin against illumination and conviction...

You see all sins are not equal;
some are more grievous than others,
and bring greater wrath;
therefore especially take heed of these sins...
Oh, beware of those circumstances
which increase your sin
and make it more heinous!
