Abortion: What does the Bible say about cases of rape & incest?

The soul who sins shall die.
The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father,
nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son.
The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself,
and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.~ Ezekiel 18:20

This prophetic command applies to all human beings, Christian & non-Christian. Everyone shall be judged by whether they obey the eternal requirements of God. And it is upon the non-negotiable Law of God they (& we) shall be judged of God.

35% of self-professed pro-lifers think abortion should be legal in the first trimester, 59% think it should be legal in cases of rape or incest, and about a quarter think it should be legal when the baby might be physically or mentally impaired. Abortion equals murder? Not for these "pro-lifers."
~ Chris Selley

Obviously pro-life does not = pro-life. And pro-life does not = regenerate.

The value of individual human beings is not determined by what we think or believe or even what is popular. The Bible reveals to us that the value of each person is not INtrinsic, but EXtrinsic.

  • "That is to say, man's dignity is not inherent. It does not exist in and of itself. Ours is a derived, dependent, and received dignity. In and of ourselves we are of the dust. But God has assigned a remarkable value and worth to us as His creatures made in His image. He is the source of our life and our very being. He has cloaked us with a robe of value and worth." ~  RC Sproul
Do we believe Jeremiah 1:5 or not? God said: "BEFORE I formed you in the womb, I knew you."

Our very lives begin in the mind of God.

This is a precious truth.

We are KNOWN of God before we are conceived. Even before our father's sperm penetrated our mother's egg, God KNEW us. This clearly reveals that no human being was conceived by accident. In the eyes of the One to whom we must give account, no person is a mistake.
Over 87% of the sexually immoral women who murder their babies by abortion identify themselves as Christians. What does THAT tell you?

Do we believe the Holy Spirit who inspired the prayer of Psalm 139?

"For You formed my inward parts;
You knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are Your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven...
Your eyes saw my unformed substance..."

Do we believe Psalm 127:3 which boldly pronounces:

"Behold, children are a heritage (gift) from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward"?

Children are derived from the Lord Himself. Each little one is to be received as from Him, and to be acknowledged with thanksgiving as His gift ♥

Chris Selley, of the National Post, writes that implicit in every argument presented by those who allow for the premeditated murder of a living human child is "the belief that while a fetus is something less than human, it is also considerably more than nothing." He goes on to say:
"The good news for agonized pro-choicers is that they have company. This view of the fetus - less than human, more than nothing - cuts across the prochoice/pro-life boundary, making something of a mockery of each side's hardline positions."
In his concluding statement Selley writes:
"The law is far too blunt an instrument to impart any wisdom on this endlessly complex and emotional issue. When the vast majority of people believe abortion should be legal in some circumstances, the only legal demarcation between medical procedure and murder that makes any sense is the one we have now: Birth."

Christians, stand up & speak the Word of God, which is forever settled in heaven & on earth.

R.c. Sproul Jr. reminded me of an awful reality when he said: "Don't forget that the National Right to Life Committee fully supported, and endorsed that "pro-life" President, George Bush who straightforwardly affirmed his conviction that the federal government ought to protect the "rights" of moms to murder babies conceived by rape or incest."

I reckon this is a matter of not believing the Word of God on matters of life & eternity.

Truth is not determined by what we believe. God's Word is a settled truth, whether we believe it or not.

Christians, rise up. Fight for the lives of children. The Lord Your God commands it!

The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern. (Pr 29:7)

Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice. (Pr 31:9)

Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless... (Is 1:17)

Rescue those who are being taken away to death;
hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. (Pr 24:11

In Jesus' Name. Amen.
