Things to Remember about the Wicked

Mothers waiting in a long line to kill their babies at Orlando Women's Center abortuary.

Jesus stood up in the synagogue in His hometown of Nazareth. He unrolled the scroll and read from Isaiah: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18-19

In Jesus' high priestly  to His Father in John 17 He prays for His disciples; "As you sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world." So, the mission our Savior has given us as He sends us out into His world is HIS MISSION: to proclaim the good news of the gospel to spiritually bankrupt sinners who are slaves of Satan. What a glorious mission! It is good to keep in mind a few things that scripture says about the 'captives' (sinners).

The Bible teaches that the unregenerate woman is not a 'nice' person. She is the slave of sin (John 8:34) & the servant of the devil, (Eph.2:2). The Master established very clearly: “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin." (John 8:34) "Slaves of depravity"- (II Peter 2:19) "Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil." (I John 3:8) So, we are talking about bringing the message of salvation to those who are slaves of sin, their flesh and the devil.

Here are a few other biblical descriptions of the ungodly:

Their eyes are blind (John 12:40; II Cor. 4:4; I John. 2:11).

Their ears are deaf (Psalm 115:6).

Their hearts:
* wicked
* calloused
* made of stone
* murderous
* deceitful
* are the source of: evil thoughts & deeds, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander (Ezekiel 36:26, Jeremiah 17:9, Matthew 13:15;15:19, Romans 1:30).

They are chronically sick and leprous with sin (Isaiah 1:5, 6).

The thoughts and intents of his heart are only evil continually.” (Gen.6:5)

They are unclean, corrupt, filthy (Job 15:16, Ezekiel 36:29, 33)

They drink iniquity (sin) like water. (Job 15:16)

They are guilty (Numbers 14:18)

They have a depraved mind (Romans 1:28)

They know about God but suppress the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18-20,32)

They have exchanged the truth for a lie, worshiping and serving the creature (themselves and their lovers) rather than the Creator (Romans 1:25)

They are without excuse for their sin (Romans 1:21,32)

They are not grateful to God for giving them life and breath. (Romans 1:21)

They are dead in transgressions & sins (Ephesians 2:1)

They are heartless and ruthless. (Romans 1:31)

They walk in darkness (Isaiah 9:2; Matthew 6:23; Colossians 1:13)

Their feet are swift to shed blood (Romans 3:15)

They are moving toward destruction, ruin and death (Psalm 36:1;14:3; Romans 3:16)

They think they are 'good' people. (Proverbs 20:6)

The like to think well of & flatter themselves. (Psalm 36:2)

They do not fear God. (Romans 3:18)
"Transgression speaks to the wicked
deep in his heart;
there is no fear of God
before his eyes. For he flatters himself in his own eyes
that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.
The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit;
he has ceased to act wisely and do good.
He plots trouble while on his bed;
he sets himself in a way that is not good;
he does not reject evil."
~ Psalm 36:1-4

They are hell-bound. Unless they genuinely repent, savingly trust in Jesus Christ and are born-again by the power of the Holy Spirit, they will be cast into the lake of fire at the Judgment. (Revelation 21:8)

While sinners (including false converts) will be deceived by the evils of their sin (lying, stealing, illicit sexual relationships, murdering their babies, etc) believing them to be the remedy for the pressures they face (internally & externally), their wicked deeds dishonor their Creator and sow more corruption and whirlwind of their lives. God's remedy for man's malady is THE LAW and the GOSPEL OF LIFE & ETERNITY! Let us be tender-hearted toward the wicked. The most merciful kindness we can do for a captive is bring them the truth as it is in Jesus and His commandments. This and ONLY THIS gospel power appointed by God to set the ungodly free from the power and penalty of sin, so that she can live a holy life now and reign with Christ forever in heaven!
