Soul rest for beleaguered saints

Soul rest for beleaguered saints

Instead of yielding to impatience
or despondency under our troubles,
we should turn our thoughts
to the goodness of the Lord
towards those who fear and trust in Him...
Let not any yield to unbelief, or think,
under discouraging circumstances,
that they are cut off
from before the eyes of the Lord,
and left to the pride of men.
Lord, pardon our complaints and fears;
increase our faith, patience, love, and gratitude;
teach us to rejoice in tribulation and in hope.
The deliverance of Christ,
with the destruction of His enemies,
ought to strengthen and comfort the hearts of believers
under all their afflictions here below,
that having suffered courageously with their Master,
they may triumphantly enter into His joy and glory.
~ Matthew Henry

Blessed are those who have been persecuted or the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
~ Matthew 5:10-12

The Lord does not forget,
nor forsake His people in their troubles,
especially those who suffer
for His glorious Name sake.
No! Jesus loves His sheep
Let us look to our Shepherd & King
as we endure hard trials
& reproach from those around us
(even from people who self-identify as brothers & sisters).
Look to the Rock,
in Whom you will find
incredible
comforting
wondrous
amazing
soul-sheltering
grace.

If you truly belong to Jesus,
having turned from sin
& have trusted Him as Your mighty Savior,
you are washed clean in His blood.
You are His precious child.
You have a sanctuary in the King of kings.
Cling to your Advocate
& plead the promises given for Christ's sons & daughters:

You hide them in the secret place of Your presence
from the conspiracies of man;
You keep them secretly in a shelter
from the strife of tongues.
~ Psalm 31:20
