The Preeminence of Christ and His Word in Fighting Baby-Killing

The Preeminence of Christ and His Word in Fighting Baby-Killing

This morning a pro-lifer named Barbara said:
"God will change hearts and minds
by our actions of love and forgiveness.
All other ways are prideful!"

Umm.

That's not what the Bible says, Barbara.
Talk about prideful.

It's not, primarily, about US

While we, as born-again believers in Jesus,
have no excuse NOT to act loving,
hearts and minds are changed BY GOD,
who saves souls and lives by Jesus Christ,
through His Spirit,
by Word of His power.
It is primarily HIS WORD
which accomplishes HIS PURPOSES
by HIS SPIRIT
for HIS GLORY.

We must do God's Work, God's Way.
With the Son, By His Spirit, through His Word.

Consider the testimony of God regarding the pre-eminence of Christ and His preached Word in the Holy Scriptures:

He is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn of all creation.
For by Him all things were created,
in heaven and on earth,
visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—
all things were created through Him and for Him.
And He is before all things,
and in Him all things hold together.
And He is the head of the body, the Church.
He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
that in everything He might be preeminent.
~ Colossians 1:15-18

So shall My Word be that goes out from My mouth;
it shall not return to Me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
~ Isaiah 55:11

This is the Word of the LORD..saying,
'Not by might,
nor by power,
but by My Spirit'
saith the LORD of hosts.
~ Zechariah 4:6

So faith comes from hearing,
and hearing through the Word of Christ.
~ Romans 10:17

For I am not ashamed of the gospel,
because it is the power of God that brings
salvation to everyone who believes ...
~ Romans 1:16

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching,
for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness ...
~ II Timothy 3:16

For you have been born again
not of seed which is perishable
but imperishable, that is,
through the living and enduring
Word of God.
~ I Peter 1:23

The seed is the Word of God ...
~ Luke 8:11

For the Word of God is living and active
and sharper than any two-edged sword,
and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit,
of both joints and marrow,
and able to judge
the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
~ Hebrews 4:12

For since, in the wisdom of God,
the world did not know God through wisdom,
it pleased God through the foolishness of PREACHING
to save those who believe.
~ I Corinthians 1:21
